How We Started

Clear Fluff began in a cramped Melbourne apartment in 2019. Three language teachers, frustrated with the app-based approach flooding the market, decided there had to be a better way.

We'd watched countless students hit the same wall: thousands of vocabulary cards memorised, grammar rules drilled into muscle memory, yet they'd freeze in actual conversations.

The problem wasn't effort. It was method.

So we built something different. A learning system that prioritises speaking from day one, where mistakes are expected and cultural context comes standard. Where you're not just learning words—you're learning how people actually communicate.
